Organ Stop Pizza Review

Since the late 1970s the Organ Stop Pizza Restaurant has been providing an amazing experience to their customers. The combination includes fantastic pizza, and amazing music played on an authentic pipe organ.

And, this isn’t your ordinary pipe organ, this is a whurlitzer pipe organ that has tons of cool features like dancing cats, flags and disco balls, and every single bell and whistle you can imagine.

The venue is huge, until you decide to find a seat. The place is packed! We recommend arriving before the 6 pm dinner crowd, because seating is limited and you may have to wait. Don’t worry, though, there’s a 15 minute interval once an hour where people usually clear out.

The seating is strictly simple: Large picnic tables lining the hall with simple tablecloths. But, don’t let the seating fool you! They make a terrific pizza, and they have great music!

A couple of the music selections we heard the night we were there:

  • Frozen
  • Michael Jackson
  • Back to the Future
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Sound of Music

And many more! You can make special requests, and the organ player will usually accommodate — especially if it is your birthday or anniversary. On the night we attended, the organ player played two of the songs we asked for.

The pizza is really good. Not amazing, by any standard, but decent and enjoyable. It should be noted that they only accept cash, and they have an ATM in the lobby.

They also serve cold beer, and ice cream.

So, don’t miss Organ Stop Pizza! It’s worth the trip to Mesa just for the show!

Urban Picnic

We stopped in at Urban Picnic for lunch recently, and had their delicious wraps for lunch. Urban Picnic is a small sandwich and soup shop located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Mesa. Within walking distance to coffee shops, antique shops, and salons.

They specialize in amazing salads, wraps, sandwiches, and more! The more includes awesome house-made teas, Izze drinks, and a big kids menu. The vibe is fancy… and, dare I say, urban. We loved the seats against the wall where we could watch people come in, order, and mill about.

On the day we visited, there was a massive rainstorm. The sort where you can only see a few yards in front of you. Here’s a picture.

They have a menu that changes frequently, so I’m not 100% sure whether these items will be available in the future.

If you are in Mesa, definitely give Urban Picnic a visit! It’s a great spot for lunch in Mesa!

Thai House

I am now ready to crown Thai House as the best Thai food restaurant in the valley. I’ve been to most of the cool places around town, and I keep coming back to Thai House. We tend to visit the location on Shea Blvd., however we’ve also visited the location near the 101.

We go to Thai House frequently and our typical order lately has been the following:

  • Panang Curry with Chicken
  • Pan Fried Noodles with Chicken

If we’re really hungry, we’ll order a couple of appetizers, like the chicken or peanut sauce.

Thai House has a 4 star review with more than 100 reviews on Yelp. The staff are absolutely the most friendly people. We’re definitely “regulars” because they recognize us, and know what we normally order.

I’ll include some photos of these dishes here, as well as the peanut sauce which is absolutely delicious. It’s a tad bit spicy.

I’ll be doing some additional reviews as time goes by, as I’m working to review literally every item on the menu. I can heartily recommend every single curry dish, as I’ve tried them all.
